Portrait of a What?
It's shopping season! I see all of the commercials on TV. I see all of the early Black Friday Sales on the various online stores. But is it just me or does this shopping season thing happen earlier every year? No matter -- I've got you covered! This year, I am proud to announce that I have thirteen suggestions for you to consider for the readers in your life. I'll be going through those suggestions here over the next few weeks for your.
Today, I'd like to start off my suggestion with one of my series. I have two of them to offer. This series is close to my heart as it has characters that have developed over the past 35 years. Actually, let me introduce them to you, as you would meet them in the sample of the book that you can find for free on Amazon.
This book is called "Portrait of an Unlikely Affair."
I can see what you're thinking -- "Um... Portrait of a what? I don't want to read about an affair unless it's steamy and hot."
Yeah, sorry to disappoint. It's not that kind of affair. My books are really adventures with a clean love story intertwined. There is drama, just not smut. Portrait of an Unlikely Affair is actually the story of a very unlikely adventure that begins in 1995.
Let's meet our main characters.
Avonlea Stone is a beautiful young celebrity. Her family is considered "Hollywood Royalty" because her grandmother is a princess. Her grandfather built StoneHouse Entertainment in the early days of the movies and her father now runs it. They are a rogue studio, doing the projects they wish to do, and always have success in their ventures. When we meet Avonlea, she is twenty-one years old. When she was nineteen she had been engaged to her childhood sweetheart and long-time co-start but called off the engagement after she was attacked by a stalker. She withdrew from the public eye for the next year. A casting agent named Connor Jones caught her eye when she met him at a work function. He was witty, charming, and handsome. They began casually dating for five months when Connor offers to take her home to meet his mother.
Brian Ridley isn't your average guy. He is young, too young for where he is in life, and his background gives you questions when the mystery deepens -- Brian is known as 249 and is considered a classified military weapon. Brian's history is unthinkable to us. It's loathsome. He is the sole surviving member of an experimental unit called Oscar Company. He is low-key and doesn't smile. He is very much an introvert, doesn't care for people, and prefers his own company. He works hard, he is serious, and he doesn't show emotions. Not many people would want to befriend him, know him, or be comfortable around someone like him. He isn't a social butterfly. But that's the whole point -- He is not recognized by his superiors as a human but rather as a weapon and is never expected to be in the civilian world. Brian is also sick. He has a very rare terminal disease that should have already killed him. Brian has just received a promotion and orders to transfer to a new location.
There are two things that Avonlea and Brian have in common right now. One is that they are both on jets at the same time, with the same destination. The second is that neither of them are looking forward to the time ahead of them. What happens next is the story of a lifetime.
This book is the beginning of a six novel series that takes the reader on a page turning adventure that cannot be put down until the very end.
