Trivial Tidbits -- Project Broken Glass
As we continue our journey through my first year as a published author, we have been making our way through the six-book Portrait of an Unlikely Affair series. Today we are looking at the 5th installment, Project Broken Glass. It was released on Amazon on December 2, 2022, and was meant to be the finale. I'm rather glad it wasn't.
I can imagine giving an "evil laugh" when speaking of this book, just because I know what's in store for you. In reality, while my brain is imagining that "muahahahahaha" laugh, I just smile really big because I was impressed with this book myself. When imagining a completely fictional world that sometimes brushes with reality, I began to think of all these "conspiracy theories" and "cryptozoology" sightings that seem to have always took place back in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s (Like the Mothman, the Jersey Devil, that Lizard Man of Bishopville, or the Old Man of the Mountain in West Virginia to name a few.) I mean, sure, sightings still happen randomly today (and people even devote their lives trying to find them) but we always have or are given ample explanations and theories given to us to "explain" it all away. Sometimes it is logical and correct because Mother Nature is amazing, but when they can't explain it, they just give a wave of the hand and use the term "conspiracy theory" and mention "tin foil hats" and everyone just shuts up because nobody wants to be seen as "crazy." (Funny how psychology works.)
But I'm an author and my job is fiction -- So I did what I do -- Write Fiction.
So, since all sorts of theories in history spawn from experiments that start with "Project" I decided to create one of my own and voila! -- Project Broken Glass emerged from my complicated and very complex "What If" writing style, with a nod to that phrase you see accompanying an ax or a fire hose in every public building, "In Case of Emergency, Break Glass." Eventually everything comes out into the open and that is why I decided to start this book with the mysterious man that has only been spoken about up until this point before diving back into Brian and Avonlea's story later in this book. I dunno....This book is going to go to places you really never expected from me.
