Trivia Tuesday! Along the Way and Wherever it Goes!!

If you follow me on social media, you've seen that I'm beginning my trivia walkthrough of my books! If you missed it, here's the first one that was posted this last week:

In honor of my one year mark of being a published author, let's look at the ten books I have gotten out these past 365 days! (Having written almost daily for 35 years really pays off.)

My debut novel was Along the Way. It was the "newer" of the story lines I had been working on, having started this one in the early 2000s. As with everything I do, it began with muses of "what if?" while resting my feet in between dances. I never intended it to be a duology as I hoped it would be a single 200 page book but when it got over 500, I had to split it in two. It was originally self-published with Lulu Publishing back in 2014 but I wasn't ready to begin promoting it as I was still unsure and uncertain how well the story would be recieved. Failure was a fear. By 2017, I toyed with promoting it again but once again, the fear of failure and whether or not the story was "good enough" stopped me.
With age comes experience, inner growth, and a certain "why the hell not?" mindset. In September of 2022, after a conversation with my kids about dreams and believing in oneself, I began looking into going forward with my goal of becoming a "best selling author," and introduced Along the Way to the world on September 19th.
Along the Way is a story about life, friendships, and love, with added complexities of doubt, meddling, and events beyond our control. Human nature is boggling, and sometimes we spend so much time worrying about something we have no control over. And that is just the beginning.
Find Along the Way and my other nine books at www.amazon.com/author/embrooks where you can choose from Kindle, paperback, and hardcover. It is available on Kindle Unlimited through September 10th. You can also find it in paperback at www.barnesandnoble.com. It will be added to your Apple Books app after its enrollment in Kindle Unlimited ends.
If you've read it, don't forget to give it a rating or review on Amazon, barnesandnoble.com, or at Goodreads! I appreciate it!

Today I'm going to share the sequel of Along the Way with Wherever It Goes.

Wherever It Goes starts up where Along the Way left off. The characters that are introduced in this book were quite fun to work with. It also leaves Cedar Grove and introduces you to Ryan Carson's life and who he is without his friends. I did find it particularly interesting in life how other people tend to influence their friends, especially ones that have known each other all their lives. The question I explored was, "would close friends allow the others to grow and change? Would they allow each other to see it? Do we sacrifice who we truly are for our friends who are comfortable in the status quo? What if one didn't? How would that dynamic go? And what of the new friends we've made? How would that all mix?" So, add in secrets, self-inflicted drama, wounded inner child, a dash of extreme behavior, shake it all up, and we've got a story plot worthy of television. Or in our case, a book.
