Sometimes Technology is My Friend -- Updated Description for Portrait of an Unlikely Affair
Happy Monday everyone! Being an author these days means nothing about your work is ever written in stone. In fact, I can only imagine, being a writer back in those days, carving my work in stone, then making a typo, and having to start all over again (I'd have to change the language at that point and call it 'dialect.'). I also have massive respect for the writers who have written their masterpieces on a typewriter, way back in the early days, and accidentally hit the wrong key being three quarters of the way through the page. (Imagine a typewriter being hurled out a window into the field.)
Today, compared to our predecessors, we have it so simple with the use of technology. We can edit and resubmit our work as many times as we need to.
And that happens more than you think, readers.
So, not only did my book Portrait of an Unlikely Affair get a recent cover revamp but I've also worked on a new description. (Confession: I dislike writing descriptions because I just want to say, "Read it. You'll like it. Trust me." But due to technology we are also conditioned to being lied to and fooled by tricksters, pranksters, and everyone with an agenda.)💥So, behold 💫-- the new description to Portrait of an Unlikely Affair, which is the first book and namesake for the series. It is available on ebook, paperback, hardcover, and on Kindle Unlimited. It can be found at www.amazon.com/author/embrooks and at www.barnesandnoble.com along with all ten of my books!!!
Portrait of an Unlikely Affair description:
A celebrity with a pedigree, Avonlea Stone was used to her life being certain – living a certain lifestyle, being treated a certain way, and dating a certain type of man. After being attacked by an obsessed fan at nineteen, she broke off her engagement and hid, avoiding the spotlight in her own life until she decided to take a chance on dating again. However, she never expected that Connor Jones, her new boyfriend, would be the key to finding the very thing she didn’t know she was missing when he asks her to go home to meet his mother.
Her boyfriend's mysterious step-brother, Brian Ridley, is unlike anyone she has ever known before. He is definitely not the kind of man a woman of Avonlea's status would ever look twice at, should ever look twice at, as they couldn't be more wrong for each other. He is a nobody who is sick with a terminal disease, and has an overprotective father. But, what makes Brian even more unsuited for her is the secret as to who and what he is.
Despite the odds against them, one decision, made on a whim, starts Avonlea on an adventure that would test everything she ever thought about herself and offer her a chance at a life she never knew she wanted.
This is just the beginning of a six book adventure that entangles the reader in life, love, and honor.
If you don't care for Amazon, I have those same ten available at Barnes and Noble, too, in paperback and on Nook. (Search Em Brooks and the title!)
If you know of another book retailer you love to buy books from, let me know and I'll see if I can get my books sold there too.
Keep up to date with all of my writing at:
