Your Friday Tidbit -- Could've Been Something teasers

HAPPY FRIDAY! How's it going for you? I'm very amazed at the weather outside. Three straight weeks of storms. Last Friday it was snowing like crazy, no electricity, and we were watching it stack. The Friday before that was the same story, except we still had electricity. This Friday, we are at three inches of rain and I'm watching the snow rapidly melt. We had over 2 feet of snow on our deck yesterday. Now we have one foot in less than 24 hours. Hope all of those by the rivers, streams, and low lying areas are making plans and keeping eyes out. I'm betting the hardware stores are selling out of that Flex Seal Flood stuff. I wonder if it actually works like the TV commercials say it does. 🤔 I don't normally watch television, but I do enjoy catching On Patrol Live on Reelz. I'm seeing definite places I never want to move to on that show. As I tell my kids, I grew up trying to never miss an episode of COPS. I'd stay up late (8 pm seemed late to me then) to watch that half hour of COPS. Unsolved Mysteries was the other show I enjoyed watching. I'm sure there were more but once I discovered ballroom dancing, I quit watching TV and never got back into live tv since. Now the commercials are so very annoying and spend the time having them on mute while reading or writing. I enjoy shows that I can either learn from or relax while watching. I dislike stressful shows or highly intentionally dramatic for no reason whatsoever. Which is why I still don't watch TV much and why I tend to watch the same ten shows over and over again on our on-demand apps. But back to my boggle, if anyone has used that Flex Seal Flood stuff, I'm curious as to if it actually works. I recall seeing one where he supposedly installed a screen door in the bottom of a boat and it floated. It's a curiosity to me.

OK, moving on. Today I promise to discuss more than the weather and TV. I'm going to remind you that I have three novels right now on Kindle Unlimited -- Along the Way, Portrait of an Unlikely Affair, and The Allegheny Chronicles: Eden and the Alchemist. You can find them all just by clicking the link or going to www.amazon.com/author/embrooks. If you've read any of my books, please, by all means, leave a rating or a review. In other posts from other authors, I've learned that apparently readers look at those things and make choices whether to read them from there. Who knew? Also, if you're on Goodreads, make sure you look my books up there! There's a lot of interesting things there on Goodreads. You can even keep track of how many books you've read.

Today I'm going to tease you a little more by giving teasers to two more short stories. On Tuesday I did a teaser for the Could've Been Something stories "Steam Cleaned Society" and "Morgue." Today, I'll do two more.

Could've Been Something is a collection of random short stories, musings, and writings. Each story is going to be unique in its own way. There will be several short reads and a few longer reads. I am shooting to get it out by this summer on both Kindle and paperback. It will be available for Pre-Order on Kindle in a few months. But let's take a look at two more stories that will be included.

"The Invisible Bastard." Ever helplessly watch someone struggle with something and there is nothing you can do to help relieve them of that struggle? This is a short read.

"Bob." This is even a shorter read about my 'first love' and it showcases why I write fiction. All of you who have known me forever are now having their minds spin, wondering about this now. It's been teased that my first love was a horse -- a dashing, handsome, and rather stubborn bay Morgan gelding named Wee Willie Five, or just Willie. That ornery horse and I saw eye to eye and I was rather depressed when his owners sold him. But then I got to thinking -- nope. There was another love before Willie and you're just going to have to wait to read this one.

That's all for today. Since I'm practicing writing short stories, I'm going to make this post short and simple. Thank you for hanging out with me today, I really appreciate it. If you have any questions, comments, or randomness, please leave it in the comment section below. As always, thank you for sharing my posts, reading my books, and telling all of your friends how much you enjoy them! 💕🤗
