Your Friday Tidbit -- Oh really? Short stories, you say?

Hello and happy Friday to you all, wherever you are joining me from. I must admit I've been enjoying my new projects immensely. It's been a few years since I've gone over my arsenal of stories I've written over the years, the ones in my "Publish Some Day" file. Oh boy, are you guys in for it!  Last week, I asked what you all thought of short stories and how you also felt about ghost stories. If you missed that, don't worry, you can always let me know today by sending me a message or commenting in the space below👇.

What I'm seeing is that people do enjoy short stories, quick reads that take a short amount of time and that when it comes to ghost stories, they enjoy some bone chilling and hair raising affects but not gory or bloody or demented. I agree. A good ghost story should be like encountering the real thing in real life. So, I'm going to enjoy this.

Last week I had been reading through my stories, deciding on what to do next, when I had a story enter through my mind one afternoon. Of course, I had to immediately start writing. I didn't know if it was going to be a full novel in itself, or if it would be a short story. When I finally got to write the ending of it, I knew it would be considered a short story. It's quite the story, one I never would have started writing or even thought about writing until I had been considering my own sales and learning how to do advertising. Out of the blue, I looked at my husband and said, "What if...." and spewed out the idea. He gave me a look of curiosity and admitted, "That would actually be good." (I should warn you, he isn't a reader but I love him anyway😍.)

So I set to work and now I know that the short stories are definitely going to be my next release. Today, I'm going to tease you, a lot. If you know how my mind works, you're going to enjoy this.

I have the cover and title already and it goes a little something like this:

In this volume, I have gathered nine stories so far, a little something I'd say for everyone. The table of contents is as follows:

Shorter Reads

1. Just Another Mom Blog

2. The Invisible Bastard

3. Bob

4. Steamed Cleaned Society

5. The Uninvited Guest

Longer Reads

6. Morgue

7. One Hell of a Best Seller

8. Fate Skips a Beat

9. Terrors of the Moor

I'm sure there'll be more by the time I publish this one for you to read, but that's a great start. I've been thinking of different ways to get your imagination going so I made up some mock covers as if they were their own books. I think that's the best way to do this without giving too much away. So, here you go! Let me know which stories you can't wait to dig into!

🤔
