A GoodReads Author!

Hey everyone! Happy Mid-Week Check in! 

This week I discovered there is a website called Goodreads. 

It's an app too. 

And it's run by Amazon. 

How have I never known this? (OK, so maybe having kids and not reading many books this last decade has something to do with it.) BUT I know about it now and that's what matters!

I ventured on there to look up my books and was baffled when none showed up and the covers and my author name was not found. Baffling. The more I looked for it, the more I was wondering how to get my books on there. An hour went by and low-and-behold, my books suddenly began to show up. Did my searching for them prompt them to be added? From there, I discovered that as an author I could have an author page and be a verified GoodReads Author!!! So I did just that. 

If you're familiar with it, then by all means, you already know this. But if you're not, like me, you can find so many cool things over there. Not only can you have a digital "Want to Read" list but you can mark what books you've read or are reading as well as rate and review them. As it is part of Amazon, you can purchase kindle ebooks right off the app or webpage!!! Plus you can read author blogs, ask authors questions, and see what other people are reading or have read. Pretty cool! They are also on Facebook (with over a million likes to their page) and often ask people what books they plan on reading over the weekend, or what books they just finished, or even new authors they've discovered! It'd be pretty cool if you could answer those questions for them on FB with "Em Brooks!" 

That's why I missed out on yesterday's Teaser Tuesday, I was busy setting up and learning GoodReads. I hope to check in with you all for our Friday Tidbit but with the forecast of storms and snow coming in, I'm hoping I'll have the electricity to do that!
