Behind the Scenes (OR Technical Difficulties)
This is an Unplanned Post. I don’t know how many of you have encountered this over on Facebook. I have personally been off facebook for nearly 2 years now and only went back on to reach an audience while promoting my books. This “new” monster that social media has become makes you go through a rather steep learning curve.
Over on Facebook, they make you jump through hoops. There are words you can't use, apparently, even if not used in a way that can be misconstrued. I shouldn't be too surprised, after all, every definition of every word in ol' Webster's Dictionary is fluid and your definition doesn't have to match my definition, and we can make up new definitions for words.
(Ohhhh, crazy thought! Does that same concept apply to grammar and punctuation? Asking for a friend.)
This morning I posted my "Fun Fact Friday" and within seconds had my post deleted. Wondering if it was a glitch, and recalling my "Technical Difficulties" earlier in the week, I changed some words and I posted it a second time. Then I get this pop up message:
Ugh.
So, if they actually had a real live person who makes decisions, they would have realized the post violates ZERO of what they are concerned about. But since its a computer, programmed with a list of words and if/then commands, you get the point.
So, needless to say, I'll post short and sweet stuff on FB and Instagram so I can keep my future "social credit score" on the up and up, apparently, but if you want the full articles, keep it on blogspot or substack.
Have a great day everyone, and watch them words!
